Asphalt 8 - Alfa Romeo 4C Research & Development, 5 Labs 50 Tests, details

This R&D(Research and Development) event originally published on February 25, 2016 which has 3 labs 35 tests and 7 days were given to the player. And this new one was extended with new map--Rio.
It has 5 labs 50 tests and 15 days were given to the player.

screenshot of Asphalt 8 Research & Development Alfa Romeo 4C banner

These details were taken from Asphalt 8 Wikia's Research & Development page. And if you'd like to see the details of R&D event, you can click below--link to the Asphalt 8 Wikia page:

Currently I'm waiting for the lab 4 to unlocked so I don't have any details on Lab 4 and 5. So once I've done each test, I will edit the spreadsheet below.
And also that Asphalt 8 Wikia's Second Alfa Romeo 4C R&D event - 5 Labs 50 Tests - September 4, 2016 page which I am the only one editing that page. Because many people already done this R&D.

Lab info. and unlocking details:
  • Lab 1 - only one lap so player should better to take long route to collect QC(Quality Checks). And no traffics on the road.
  • Lab 2 - 2 days later (1 day and 12+ hours before unlock, it costs about 700 tokens)
    • mostly two laps to collect enough QC, except elimination, knockdown, etc.
    • after test 11, traffics on the road.
  • Lab 3 - 4 days later (1 day and 12+ hours before unlock, it costs about 1,200 tokens)
  • Lab 4 - 7 days later (1 day and 20+ hours before unlock, it costs about 1,000 tokens)
  • Lab 5 - 11 days later

Each lab will unlock follow as above. So if you'd like to play it(unlock) early, you need tokens for unlock the lab.

You can see the details below
or you can click to see from Google Docs website.

P.S. In Android, there has a problem--probably after player done the Lab 4 Test 29. Player can't play it because after Lab 4 Test 29, Asphalt 8 game close itself. After 3 or 4 days were passed, Gameloft don't bother to fix the issue.
And then come up with idea is this:
screenshot of Alfa Romeo 4C R&D event shut down message

Just shut down the event.
"Alfa Romeo 4C R&D has been stopped due to technical issues and we plan to relaunch it as soon as it gets fixed. Meanwhile please receive this reward as a compensation!" message from Gameloft's Asphalt 8 game.

Problem is when the event starts, I have to do it all over again. And it's 15 days event--D class car so it was very long days to play, that means I have to arrange my schedule again to play that event.
Of course, if I can start from Lab 4--I've done until Lab 3, it will be okay.

But what I've seen so far--Gameloft don't bother to fix the problem and login error, upload result error because of Asphalt 8 sever shutdown or other server issues which made player lost enough playtime for R&D or EDD. They never bothered about these issues.
I felt like they were intentionally shutdown the Asphalt 8 sever--1+ day Asphalt 8 server shutdown means I don't have enough time to win the event so I had to spend tokens(or more credits for booster or upgrade) to catch up.

Asphalt 8 34th, the last tryout of BXR Bailey Blade GT1 Enduro Double Down challenge list

I'm writing this for
  • trying to figure out the difficulty increase,
  • this can apply any EDD (Enduro Double Down) challenge because game style is quite same as previous challenge--Weber Faster One and Aston Martin One-77.
  • So you can do it well on next EDD challenge.

Based on previous EDD and other information from Asphalt 8 Wikia page
--like Enduro Double Down Challenges and Enduro Double Down/BXR Bailey Blade GT1 page.

Difficulty will increase after player collected 7,000 points and one more time after collected 20,000 points.

So if player did the double until 24 ace race in BXR Bailey Blade GT1 EDD, after collected 7,000 points player should double until 19 ace race.
And once again, if player did the double until 19 ace race, after collected 20,000 points player should double until 14 ace race. 10 ace race.
So player should prepare for the difficulty changes.
Or player should upgrade enough to do the desire ace race.

Bailey, thirty-fourth, the last EDD(Enduro Double Down) invitation.

I will write down like involved car, map, requirement, ghost racer(AI car)'s finish time. And then if there has recommended rank, I selected that challenge.

So I can figure out how difficult it became with this recommended car rank and ghost racer's finish time.

Collected points:
  • Previously collected 59,410 points.
  • Saved point at challenge 6.
  • Total: 60,950 points

Spent tokens: 0 token.
* I will not spend any token this time. Because I spent a lot in previous R&D, EDD about more than 1,300 tokens for each.

Car status:
  • BXR Bailey Blade GT1 upgrade status: R1602 (max 2222, pro 3333, elite tune up -4, +4, -4, +4)
  • fully maxed and proed it
    • Alfa Romeo MiTo GTA
    • Ford Focus RS
    • Nissan GT-R (R35)
    • Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR-X
  • Mazda 6 upgrade status: R1272 (max 4535, pro 4353)
  • Mitsubishi Eclipse (reward): R1344(max 3423, max 4353)
  • I don't own the car - upgrade status:
    • Holden Coupe 60: R1248 (max 2212, pro 2121)
    • Mazzanti Evantra: R1546 (max 2212, pro 2022)

Ace race isn't the problem
-- based on previous EDD and I failed 6 times on ace race but I failed 13 times on not ace race.

Weber Faster One is S class car. And Aston Martin One-77 is A class car. And this BXR Bailey Blade GT1 is B class car.
So I don't think it will be difficult like previous EDD---nope, not really. It's crazier (trickier) than previous EDD.

But it will be very difficult in very different way. This elite car system will degrade car so you have to tune up time to time. And this elite car system always ruined whole play time because sometimes 'tune up' just completely gone or sometimes it will refill only half of 'tune up bar'. And D or C class car like Mazda 6, Alfa Romeo MiTo GTA and Ford Focus RS had to compete with car rank of 1540 BXR Bailey Blade GT1. So one mistake or if player didn't fully upgraded means impossible to win.

* My guess was right. I failed two times on infected mode because of that 1540 BXR Bailey. You can read and see from Asphalt 8 crazy infected challenge in BXR Bailey Blade GT1 Enduro Double Down.
** Again my guess was right. I did apply the tune up. About 30 minutes later, I checked this 'tune up' thing. But four hours later, it was completely gone. So I had to apply 'tune up' again. That means I had to play next day.
Meanwhile, 2 out of 3 invitation at the time and one invitation was delivered within 2+ hours. So while doing sleep or work, my EDD invitation was fully charged for very and very long time. So I probably wasted one EDD invitation for waiting and again, waiting for complete the 'tune up'.
See the details from here or check fourth tryout.
*** You can read about Crazy fast 1540 Bailey make fail the challenge.

But many times, I failed on not ace race. So problem will be other cars--Mazda 6, Mitsubishi Eclipse, Holden Coupe 60, Mazzanti Evantra.
 - I have Mazda 6 but I didn't upgrade it properly because I upgraded it with remains. So no free class D upgrade or i4 engine card to further upgrade.
 - Holden Coupe 60, Mazzanti Evantra: I don't have these cars and I don't think I will buy it in the future. So I don't like waste credits and pro cards.

17th tryout, I've got the Mitsubishi Eclipse reward.

I was very irritated by this one crazy fast 1540 rank Bailey. Because most of time, at the beginning I hit the car(almost all the AI) to make clear the road.
But it was useless.

Because this crazy fast 1540 rank Bailey probably can go more fast. This car took all the slowest route but it can still finish first.

So I can't even catch to hit the car.

This is not so great B elite car because high rank with poor performance. So it can't do well in TLE(Time-Limited Event) and it can't do well in MP(MultiPlayer).
So I felt that pointless to get the car.
I already wasting so many credits (2 millions+) and pro cards.
At least, I didn't use any token and booster(just 2 to 4) though.

So I don't feel like continue playing.

But FI-V8 engine cards were extremely rare for me so that's the reason I will keep playing.

If you play like me (not spend token and not use booster) and would like to win the car, you should better save point at challenge 6, not challenge 10.
I wasn't very interested to win the car. That's why I just play it casually.
And those crazy fast 1540 rank Bailey makes me not to play.

I wasn't very interested to win the car. But I spent 2+ million credits and pro cards. And spent so much times to playing (and waiting for that elite 'tune up') this EDD.
So only get the Mitsubishi Eclipse car wasn't enough.

That's why I decided that if I meet crazy fast 1540 rank Bailey, I will spend token to pass that failed challenge. Or I will use booster.
But luckily I can avoid (without spend tokens--'reroll') this crazy fast 1540 rank Bailey challenge.

Challenge 1.
  • Mitsubishi Eclipse, Ipanema Showdown, Gate Drift: 10,500 points, recommended rank 1167
  • BXR Bailey Blade GT1, Dragon TRee, Knock Down the Most Cars

Challenge 2.
  • Mazzanti Evantra, Tokyo, Finish third, recommended rank 1553
  • Mazda 6, Route 375-1, Finish first

Challenge 3. Ace race. Sector 8, recommended rank 1576, AI finished at 1:08:871

With 1602 (max 2222, pro 3333, elite tune up -4, +4, -4, +4) rank BXR Bailey Blade GT1, finished at 1:07:452.

Challenge 4.
  • Ford Focus RS, The Great Wall, Flawless, Finish first, recommended rank 1012
  • Alfa Romeo MiTo GTA, Westminster Bridge, Finish first

Challenge 5.
  • Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR-X, Sector 8 Reverse, Finish first, recommended rank 1444
  • Holden Coupe 60, Barcelona Reverse, Unplugged, Finish first

Challenge 6. Ace race. French Guiana, recommended rank 1597, AI finished at 1:10:884

1602 (max 2222, pro 3333, elite tune up -4, +4, -4, +4) rank BXR Bailey Blade GT1 with booster--Tuning Kit(remain from TLE), finished at 1:08:046.

Saved 1,540 points here. And I've got the reward--1x Enduro Double Down Professional Box.
screenshot of Asphalt8 Bailey EDD 34th, the last tryout - EDD pro box reward

screenshot of Asphalt8 Bailey EDD 34th, the last tryout, main screen
As you can see, 3 hours remained.

I failed so many times on early challenges because of those crazy fast 1540 rank Bailey.
So I feel terrible about this EDD.

I should stop playing this EDD early but I invested so many things like 2+ millions credits, pro cards and spend so much times because I thought I knew how EDD works.

I think I wasn't wrong about this EDD--it was terrible trick. That's why I wrote

That's why people spend 1,500+ or 3,000+ tokens to win the car.

That's why I really happy to see this screen--expired--ended this EDD.

Currently I'm playing 33th tryout which you can see EDD will end very soon. And I will get one more invitation only.
screenshot of Asphalt8 Bailey EDD 33th tryout, challenge 8 main screen
56,190 points. Because I always try to save point at challenge 10.
About two days ago, I realised that if I wanted to win the Bailey, I should save point at challenge 6 but it was quite late to realised that.
But I wasn't playing for win the Bailey. So it doesn't matter for me.

As you can see in the screenshot, 3,810 points more to get the EDD box.
I am not sure whether I can get the box or not--I haven't decide whether use booster or tokens to get points.

* I've got the EDD box at 34th--last tryout's challenge 6.

Challenge 1.
  • BXR Bailey Blade GT1, Dragon Tree, Knock Down the Most Cars
  • Alfa Romeo MiTo GTA, The Dragon's Den, Finish first, recommended rank 1075

Challenge 2.
  • Mazda 6, Route 375-1, Finish first, recommended rank 853
  • Mitsubishi Eclipse, Ipanema Showdown, Gate Drift: 10,500 points

Challenge 3. Ace race. Sector 8, recommended rank 1576, AI finished at 1:08:871

With 1602 (max 2222, pro 3333, elite tune up -4, +4, -4, +4) rank BXR Bailey Blade GT1, finished at 1:07:518.

Challenge 4.
  • Mazda 6, Oceanview Derby, Finish first, recommended rank 1109
  • BXR Bailey Blade GT1, French Guiana Reverse, Infected, Finish first

Challenge 5.
  • Ford Focus RS, The Great Wall, Flawless, Finish first, recommended rank 1012
  • Challenge 4's BXR Bailey Blade GT1

Challenge 6. Ace race. French Guiana, recommended rank 1597, AI finished at 1:10:884

With 1602 (max 2222, pro 3333, elite tune up -4, +4, -4, +4) rank BXR Bailey Blade GT1, finished at 1:09:003.

Challenge 7.
  • Alfa Romeo MiTo GTA, Classified, Gate Drift: 8,000 points
  • Ford Focus RS, Dubai Reverse, Finish first, recommended rank 1266

  • Challenge 7's Alfa Romeo MiTo GTA

Challenge 9.
  • Mazda 6, Great Wall Reverse, Finish first, recommended rank 1179
  • BXR Bailey Blade GT1, Monaco, Elimination, Finish first

Challenge 10. Ace race. Ipanema Showdown, recommended rank 1621, AI finished at 0:59:928

With 1602 (max 2222, pro 3333, elite tune up -4, +4, -4, +4) rank BXR Bailey Blade GT1, finished at 0:59:400.

Saved 3,220 points here.

screenshot of Asphalt8 Bailey EDD 33th tryout, challenge 11 main screen
So 590 points more to get 1x Enduro Double Down professional box which is my second goal.

But as you can see, only 4 hours 49 minutes were remained. So I will have one EDD invitation only.
And first ace race will give me 460 points so I had to do until second ace race.

But if I meet that crazy fast 1540 rank Bailey, I had to spend token to pass the failed challenge. So I am using booster a bit.

Challenge 11.
  • Mitsubishi Eclipse, French Guiana, Flawless, Finish first
  • Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR-X, Wall Ascent, Elimination, Finish first, recommended rank 1505
I knew that I can't do challenge 14 ace race so I just quit the challenge.

This is quote from Asphalt 8 crazy fast 1540 rank Bailey make fail the challenge in BXR Bailey Blade GT1 Enduro Double Down @ September 7, 2016
As you can see from the screenshot, 1540 rank of BXR Bailey Blade GT1 finished at 1:12:864. This is one of craziest thing.
This challenge's car was Alfa Romeo MiTo GTA and recommended rank is 1127. I have fully upgraded MiTo which rank was 1201.
1201 rank MiTo can finish 1:14:xxx-ish so how can 1127 rank MiTo can finish 1:12:864.

It's not just impossible. I think that even pro-player can't make faster than that time with that rank.

So Gameloft's intention was very clear. They designed this EDD to fail the challenge.

Of course, with double booster, it can be done. But 1127 recommended rank. I don't think so.
Maybe 1127 recommended rank with triple booster can make that time.

You can check out my previous and other tryout of BXR Bailey Blade GT1:
Will write it soon.

Asphalt 8 31st tryout of BXR Bailey Blade GT1 Enduro Double Down challenge list

Bailey, thirty-first EDD(Enduro Double Down) invitation.

I will write down like involved car, map, requirement, ghost racer(AI car)'s finish time. And then if there has recommended rank, I selected that challenge.

So I can figure out how difficult it became with this recommended car rank and ghost racer's finish time.

Collected points:
  • Previously collected 52,970 points.
  • Saved point at challenge 10. Failed at challenge 12.
  • Total: 56,190 points

* I've got the EDD box at 34th--last tryout's challenge 6.
