I'm writing this for
- trying to figure out the difficulty increase,
- this can apply any EDD (Enduro Double Down) challenge because game style is quite same as previous challenge--Weber Faster One and Aston Martin One-77.
- So you can do it well on next EDD challenge.
Based on previous EDD and other information from Asphalt 8 Wikia page
--like Enduro Double Down Challenges and Enduro Double Down/BXR Bailey Blade GT1 page.
Difficulty will increase after player collected 7,000 points and one more time after collected 20,000 points.
So if player did the double until 24 ace race in BXR Bailey Blade GT1 EDD, after collected 7,000 points player should double until 19 ace race.
And once again, if player did the double until 19 ace race, after collected 20,000 points player should double until
So player should prepare for the difficulty changes.
Or player should upgrade enough to do the desire ace race.
You can check out my previous tryout of BXR Bailey Blade GT1:
- Bailey, first EDD invitation challenge list
- Bailey, second EDD invitation challenge list
- about crazy infected challenge
- Bailey, third EDD invitation challenge list
Bailey, fourth EDD(Enduro Double Down) invitation.
I will write down like involved car, map, requirement, ghost racer(AI car)'s finish time. And then if there has recommended car rank, I selected that challenge.
So I can figure out how difficult it became with this recommended car rank and ghost racer's finish time.
Collected points:
- Previously collected 11,210 points.
- Saved point at challenge 14. Failed at challenge 19 ace race.
- Total: 16,410 points.
Spent tokens: 0 token.
* I'm thinking about only go for Mitsubishi Eclipse reward(40,000 points) or bit more for pro kit box. So I will not spend any token this time. Because I spent a lot in previous R&D, EDD about more than 1,300 tokens.
Car status:
Car status:
- BXR Bailey Blade GT1 upgrade status: R1595 (max 2222, pro 3333, elite tune up -4, +2, 0, +2)
- fully maxed and proed it
- Alfa Romeo MiTo GTA
- Ford Focus RS
- Nissan GT-R (R35)
- Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR-X
- Mazda 6 upgrade status: I've got i4 engine card so upgrade to 1054 (max 3324, pro 4353) from R1030 (max 3324, pro 4343)
- I don't own the car - upgrade status:
- Mitsubishi Eclipse: R1267 (max 3313, pro 4243)
-- I can get this car, if I collected 40,000 points. So I upgraded it. - Holden Coupe 60: R1248 (max 2212, pro 2121) from stock R1111
- Mazzanti Evantra: none.
I upgraded Bailey quite early. Because that's my maximum upgrade for Bailey.
- Early stage--I mean before collecting 20,000 points, challenges and ace races are quite easy. So I thought upgrade a lot at early stage means I can collect more points at early and faster.
- But as you can see my challenge list, this 1540 Bailey AI ruined this plan.
- Previous EDD, I spent so many boosters and it was expensive--worth 365,00 credits and 800 tokens. This time, I'm trying to not to use it so I had to upgrade it.
- Mitsubishi Eclipse reward or pro box means I had to upgrade it. And based on my previous experience, that upgrade is kind of possible to do the at least third ace race (after collected 20,000 points) with my skill and probably without booster.
- I am trying to spend zero token this time. That means I need enough upgrade to cover my little mistake.
- EDD in B class car and more longer days to collect points, so I thought if I upgrade a lot, I can do kind of relax playing. But it looks like wrong to expect this kind of thing from Gameloft.
I'm not saying this is very hard. But it was very and very tricky--because of one crazy fast 1540 Bailey AI (and this elite tune up thing, too). Many times, this car chase me like crazy.
Ace race isn't the problem
-- based on previous EDD and I failed 6 times on ace race but I failed 13 times on not ace race.
Weber Faster One is S class car. And Aston Martin One-77 is A class car. And this BXR Bailey Blade GT1 is B class car.
So I don't think it will be difficult like previous EDD---nope, not really. It's crazier (trickier) than previous EDD.
But it will beverydifficult in very different way. This elite car system will degrade car so you have to tune up time to time. And this elite car system always ruined whole play time because sometimes 'tune up' just completely gone or sometimes it will refill only half of 'tune up bar'. And D or C class car like Mazda 6, Alfa Romeo MiTo GTA and Ford Focus RS had to compete with car rank of 1540 BXR Bailey Blade GT1. So one mistake or if player didn't fully upgraded means impossible to win.
* My guess was right. I failed two times on infected mode because of that 1540 BXR Bailey. You can read and see from Asphalt 8 crazy infected challenge in BXR Bailey Blade GT1 Enduro Double Down.
But many times, I failed on not ace race. So problem will be other cars--Mazda 6, Mitsubishi Eclipse, Holden Coupe 60, Mazzanti Evantra.
- I have Mazda 6 but I didn't upgrade it properly because I upgraded it with remains. So no free class D upgrade or i4 engine card to further upgrade.
- Mitsubishi Eclipse, I can get this car, if I collected 40,000 points, so I upgraded it.
- Holden Coupe 60, Mazzanti Evantra: I don't have these cars and I don't think I will buy it in the future. So I don't like waste credits and pro cards.
Of course, if I'd like win the car, I don't have choice, I had to upgrade it.
But I haven't decide whether I should win the BXR Bailey Blade GT1 or just collect 40,000 points for Mitsubishi Eclipse. Or bit more (60,000 points) for the EDD box which will probably contain FI-V8(Forced-Induction V8) engine card.
Decision wasn't made it yet.
Challenge 1.
- Ford Focus RS, The Secret Lab, Finish third
- Mitsubishi Eclipse, Alps, Elimination, Finish third, recommended car rank 1040
screenshot of Asphalt8 Bailey EDD 4th tryout, challenge 1 select one to play |
* It was difficult than before. Because previous tryout(first to third tryout), low rank car like Alfa Romeo MiTo GTA or Mazda 6. And 'Finish race' was gone.
Challenge 2.
- Nissan GT-R (R35), Barcelona Reverse, Knock Down the Most Cars, recommended car rank 1296
- Challenge 1's Ford Focus RS

When I tried to do this challenge 3, it was degraded car. So I did Elite car 'tune up'.
screenshot of Asphalt8 Bailey EDD 4th tryout, before challenge 3 - tune up |
So I had to wait for almost two hours.
About four hours later, I tried to do the challenge 3. And I've got this:
screenshot of Asphalt8 Bailey EDD 4th tryout, before challenge 3 - tune up gone |
See. That's why I said this at the beginning:
And this elite car system always ruined whole play time because sometimes 'tune up' just completely gone or sometimes it will refill only half of 'tune up bar'.
* Again my guess was right. I did apply the tune up. About 30 minutes later, I checked this 'tune up' thing. But four hours later, it was completely gone. So I had to apply 'tune up' again. That means I had to play next day.
Meanwhile, 2 out of 3 invitation at the time and one invitation was delivered within 2+ hours. So while doing sleep or work, my EDD invitation was fully charged for very and very long time. So I probably wasted one EDD invitation for waiting and again, waiting for complete the 'tune up'.
Meanwhile, 2 out of 3 invitation at the time and one invitation was delivered within 2+ hours. So while doing sleep or work, my EDD invitation was fully charged for very and very long time. So I probably wasted one EDD invitation for waiting and again, waiting for complete the 'tune up'.
screenshot of Asphalt8 Bailey EDD 4th tryout, edd invitation is full |
But after I spent one invitation, I had to only wait like 4+ hours(it suppose to 8 hours wait for the edd invitation ticket). It's like one hidden space is there so 8 hours probably okay. But if it's more than that, ticket timer will stop. So player must keep 'tune up' and use ticket carefully.
I waited around four hours to 'tune up' but it was completely gone. So I just don't like keep waiting.
So I decided to try with degraded car.
Recommended car rank is 1548. Mine was 1595 with degraded.
screenshot of Asphalt8 Bailey EDD 4th tryout, challenge 3 completed |
It was possible. I finished at 1:18:474.
I think it was slightly better handling than previous try with degraded car. Last time handling was 1.035 and this time was 1.058. Only 0.023 more.
But I felt quite unstable and I felt that car was ready to go skid but quite better than last time
A bit dangerous to do but quite doable, I think.
Challenge 4.
- Mazda 6, Barcelona Reverse, Finish first, recommended car rank 760
- Ford Focus RS, The London Eye, Elimination, Finish first
screenshot of Asphalt8 Bailey EDD 4th tryout, challenge 4 select one to play |
Challenge 5.
- Mitsubishi Eclipse, Rapido Park, Gate Drift: 10,000 points, recommended car rank 1095
- Challenge 4's Ford Focus RS

Challenge 6. Ace race. Oceanview Derby, recommended car rank 1560, AI finished at 1:08:079

Challenge 7.
- Nissan GT-R (R35), Iceland, Finish first, recommended car rank 1338
- Alfa Romeo MiTo GTA, Sector 8, Unplugged, Finish first
screenshot of Asphalt8 Bailey EDD 4th tryout, challenge 7 select one to play |
Challenge 8.
- Mazda 6, Mounbt Teide, Finish first, recommended car rank 853
- Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR-X, Ipanema Showdown, Gate Drift: 10,000 points
screenshot of Asphalt8 Bailey EDD 4th tryout, challenge 8 select one to play |
Challenge 9.
- BXR Bailey Blade GT1, Great Wall Reverse, Flat Spins in One Jump: 2
- Challenge 8's Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR-X, recommended car rank 1349
screenshot of Asphalt8 Bailey EDD 4th tryout, challenge 9 select one to play |
Challenge 10. Ace race. Sector 8, recommended car rank 1576, AI finished at 1:08:871
screenshot of Asphalt8 Bailey EDD 4th tryout, challenge 10 completed |
I don't know how to do one tyre(spiral?) shortcut in Sector 8's last big curve. But this time I did quite good and last big curve also quite good. And as you can see finished at 1:06:792. Last time, second tryout I made at 1:07:485 and third tryout I made at 1:08:145.
So I think I will not have problem with this one.
This is important because later--7th tryout (after collecting 20,000 points), it will become my challenge 3 ace race.
screenshot of Asphalt8 Bailey EDD 4th tryout, after challenge 10, pick |
* Actually it turned out to be Ipanema Showdown. That's why I had to spend booster--it was cheaper than failing.
Challenge 11.
- Nissan GT-R (R35), Barcelona, Finish first, recommended car rank 1371
- Holden Coupe 60, Nevada Reverse, Unplugged, Finish first
screenshot of Asphalt8 Bailey EDD 4th tryout, challenge 11 select one to play |
Challenge 12.
- Mazda 6, Route 375-1, Elimination, Finish first
- Ford Focus RS, French Guiana, Barrel Rolls:4, recommended car rank 1176
screenshot of Asphalt8 Bailey EDD 4th tryout, challenge 12 select one to play |
If you can do barrel roll in first big ramp and then go for more than 2 times of barrel roll in curved ramp, four times would be quite easy.
Challenge 13.
- Alfa Romeo MiTo GTA, Alps Reverse, Finish first, recommended car rank 1075
- BXR Bailey Blade GT1, Sky Drop, Elimination, Finish first
screenshot of Asphalt8 Bailey EDD 4th tryout, challenge 13 select one to play |
Challenge 14. Ace race. Ipanema Showdown, recommended car rank 1621, AI finished at 0:59:928
screenshot of Asphalt8 Bailey EDD 4th tryout, before challenge 14 |
screenshot of Asphalt8 Bailey EDD 4th tryout, challenge 14 Ipanema Showdown |
screenshot of Asphalt8 Bailey EDD 4th tryout, challenge 14 recommended rank |
But I'm not sure whether I can make it or not. So I decide to use double booster--Nitro Starter+Tuning Kit.
screenshot of Asphalt8 Bailey EDD 4th tryout, challenge 14 completed |
1595 (max 2222, pro 3333, elite tune up -4, +2, 0, +2) rank BXR Bailey Blade GT1 with double booster--Nitro Starter+Tuning Kit, finished at 0:56:991.
I probably can without booster but it will be tough because in my case, double booster will reduce 2 to 2.5 seconds(or more less like 1 to 1.5 seconds) so I probably can finish 58:991 to 59:500-ish.
Challenge 15.
- Alfa Romeo MiTo GTA, Venice, Gate Drift: 11,000 points, recommended car rank 1098
- Mazda 6, Cloud Nine, Finish first
screenshot of Asphalt8 Bailey EDD 4th tryout, challenge 15 select one to play |
Challenge 16.
- Nissan GT-R (R35), Dubai Reverse, Beat 1:03:000
- Challenge 15's Mazda 6, recommended car rank 969
screenshot of Asphalt8 Bailey EDD 4th tryout, challenge 16 select one to play |
Challenge 17.
- BXR Bailey Blade GT1, Venice Reverse, Flawless, Finish first
- Holden Coupe 60, Temple Drive, Elimination, Finish first, recommended car rank 1377
screenshot of Asphalt8 Bailey EDD 4th tryout, challenge 17 select one to play |
* Avoid big crash party in the first ramp but you need flat spin or take bottle for take a nitro.
Handling is quite good. It was quite doable with that rank for me.
Challenge 18.
- Challenge 16's Nissan GT-R (R35), recommended car rank 1413
- Ford Focus RS, Westminster Bridge, Elimination, Finish first
screenshot of Asphalt8 Bailey EDD 4th tryout, challenge 18 select one to play |
* I have fully upgraded 1543 rank of Nissan GT-R (R35) so within 1 minute won't be problem, I think.
screenshot of Asphalt8 Bailey EDD 4th tryout, challenge 16 result |
Challenge 19. Ace race. Iceland, recommended car rank 1629, AI finished at 1:35:986
screenshot of Asphalt8 Bailey EDD 4th tryout, challenge 19 Iceland |
But recommended rank is 1629. Not that much from previous Ipanema Showdown's 1621.
It's Iceland, tough map.
screenshot of Asphalt8 Bailey EDD 4th tryout, challenge 19 recommended rank |
So I played with one booster--Nitro Starter. I thought I can play quite along with AI.
But as you can see, I played it terribly. Failed take shortcut route. And then again, failed enter the cave.
Also I crashed several times.
If I play it well with double booster, maybe possible. But I'm not that familiar with Bailey's handling. So I'm not sure.
screenshot of Asphalt8 Bailey EDD 4th tryout, challenge 19 result-failed |
Saved point before. So not a big deal to start over.
